A self-contained apartment in the heart of Gueliz
The apartment is on the top floor of a building in Gueliz's "golden triangle", between Mohammed V and Mohammed VI avenues: a central area, lively by day, that turns calm again in the evening.
It is a fully self-contained home, with no resident host on site. You arrive, drop your bags, and the terrace is yours for your whole stay. The exact address is shared once your booking is confirmed.
Booking as an unmarried couple: what you need to know
No documents required on arrival
We do not ask for a marriage certificate on arrival. Only valid ID (passport or ID card) is requested, per guest, as for any accommodation booking in Morocco.
What the Ministry of Justice says — and what it does not change
In May 2024, the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, stated before Parliament that no legal text authorises hotels and accommodation providers to require a marriage certificate from their guests, and that this practice constitutes an invasion of privacy. No text therefore requires accommodation providers to ask for this document.
This clarification concerns the documentary requirement at check-in — it does not otherwise change the Moroccan legal framework. We therefore limit ourselves to what we can guarantee: you will not be asked for any document proving your personal situation on arrival.
Why Gueliz rather than the medina for a stay as a couple
Gueliz is the new town of Marrakech: wide avenues, café terraces, recent residential buildings — a more discreet and anonymous setting than the lanes of the medina, where traditional riads are often arranged around a courtyard shared with other travellers. Here, the apartment is completely self-contained, on the top floor of a building that is quiet in the evening and central by day.
The neighbourhood has a reputation for being safe, by day and in the evening, and is popular with expats as well as travellers on a first stay in Marrakech — before heading off to discover the buzz of the medina.
